Treatments For Internal Hemorrhoids

Internal hemorrhoids are difficult to treat just due to their location.  Over the last few decades doctors and surgeons have developed a number of ways to treat internal hemorrhoids.  The main problem with these medical procedures is that they are both invasive and costly.  Lets take a look at the top five most common medical procedures used to treat internal hemorrhoids.

1. Rubber Band Ligation – The rubber band ligation involves placing a small rubber band at the base of the internal Hemorrhoid which cuts off blood supply to the hemorrhoid, causing it to shrivel up and fall off in about four to seven days.

2. Injection Sclerotherapy – Injection Sclerotherapy involves injecting a chemical solution into the mucous membrane around the hemorrhoid and this chemical causes inflammation and closure of the veins which leads to the shrinking of the hemorrhoid.

3. Infrared Photocoagulation – Infrared Photocoagulation involves directing an infrared light to coagulate (clot) the dilated veins of the hemorrhoid which closes off the blood supply and hopefully leads to the hemorrhoids shrinking and disappearing.

4. Laser Coagulation – Laser Coagulation is a rather new procedure which involves the application of an electric current to the hemorrhoids. The electric current  triggers a chemical reaction that shuts down the blood supply in the hemorrhoid and causes the inflamed tissue to shrink.

5. Hemorrhoidectomy – This procedure involves surgically removing the hemorrhoid groups in the anal canal, and is performed with a scalpel, cautery device or laser.

All of the above methods work by cutting off the blood flow to the hemorrhoid which will than lead to the hemorrhoid shrinking and hopefully disappearing.  The degree of success varies on a number of different factors from the experience of the medical staff to the location of the hemorrhoid.

I would suggest taking a look at the Hemorrhoid Miracle website and take advantage of their free report regarding hemorrhoids.  Also my Squidoo lens Cure Hemorrhoid covers both the type Of Hemorrhoids and other common used treatments which is located at Cure Hemorrhoids Fast
